2018 Session: March Update

Uncategorized

March 2018 was a slow month for the NH Legislature, with bills moving from the House to the Senate and vice versa. New Hampshire Libertas was keeping an eye on the actions of the General Court, and went to the statehouse and Legislative Office Building (LOB) to testify for pro-freedom legislation and against anti-freedom legislation. During the final weeks of March 2018, New Hampshire Libertas President, Darryl W. Perry provided testimony on the following bills.

Bill #
Title
Position
SB593 Relative to the penalty for capital murder. Support (provided written testimony only to Senate Committee)
SB555 Establishing a citizens’ right-to-know appeals commission and a right-to-know law ombudsman and making an appropriation therefor. Support
SB363 Prohibiting political expenditures by foreign nationals. Oppose (as written)

Darryl W. Perry’s testimony is available on the New Hampshire Libertas YouTube channel. You can find updates on committee recommendations, and actions by the House and Senate, on legislation we are tracking, here.

New Hampshire Libertas was also informed that Coinbase was making changes to their Merchant Tools, which have been used to process recurring Monthly Contributions, and that on April 30, we will will no longer be able to generate new orders using Coinbase Merchant Tools. At this time, their new Commerce site does not allow recurring payments. If you are making recurring Monthly Contributions with Bitcoin, you may need to switch to PayPal. We hope that Coinbase will implement recurring payments into their new Commerce platform.

If you appreciate our efforts, please consider starting or increasing a monthly pledge via PayPal.

In Liberty,
Darryl W. Perry
President, New Hampshire Libertas

The mission of New Hampshire Libertas is to advocate for minimal government and maximum human freedom by weighing all legislation against the litmus of our principles and responding accordingly by testifying in legislative hearings, holding court with individual legislators, and crafting liberty-minded legislation.

Our goal is to acquire a mere $5,000 per year in contributions from people like you to help pay for travel and administrative expenses. If you are interested in helping fund New Hampshire Libertas, you can start with a recurring contribution of as little as $5 a month. Every contribution helps bring us that much closer to achieving our goals and ensuring liberty in our lifetime.
