Over the last three years Liberty Lobby, LLC CEO Darryl W Perry has provided oral and written testimony on well over 100 pieces of legislation. His testimony has not been without success, having worked to help pass the so called Bitcoin Bill (HB436) that “(e)xempted persons using virtual currency from registering as money transmitters” in 2017 and the repeal of the Death Penalty (HB455) in the Granite State in 2019.
Other, possibly more important successes have come in the defeat of some bad legislation, specifically bills that would have: put political parties under more control of the state government (HB240 & HB497), bills to require Presidential candidates disclose tax returns (SB362, HB1433, HB202 & HB440), and bills to effectively prevent certain political candidates from campaigning (HB374).
As we prepare for the next Legislative Session we are announcing that, beginning September 1, Liberty Lobby, LLC will be known as New Hampshire Libertas. Of the change, Perry – who will be President of New Hampshire Libertas – says “this name change serves to both let people know we’re focused on New Hampshire, and gives us the leeway to take on some think tank activities.” Adding, “by expanding operations beyond lobbying, hopefully this opens up some new funding opportunities and we look forward to more successes in the coming years.”
With the filing period for legislation for the 2020 Legislative Session fast approaching, we will soon be getting ready for another year of lobbying for minimal government and maximum freedom.
